It was an invitation that was simply too good to turn down and it certainly had the desired result of providing an opportunity to socialise and to banish the winter blues.
Some 60 people from communities across East Sutherland took up Sutherland Care Forum’s offer of a free lunch, served at Rogart community hall on Saturday.
Forum chairwoman Charlotte Gibson and volunteer helpers cooked up a storm with a three-course menu and a choice of dishes ranging from lentil soup to fish pie and bread and butter putting.
